CBC & Endorsements: Where They Stand

Barack Obama -- according to the Associated Press -- is the first sitting member of the Congressional Black Caucus to run for president in more than 30 years.

But that doesn't mean the entire group is backing him. Among CBC members, here's how the support breaks down:

There are those who chose to be Plantation politicians playing Plantation politics. However, I chose to put into practice Dr. King's Dream and not just give his Dream lip service. I have no respect for African American politicians who use their jobs for personal gain rather than serve their constituents. Everyone has the right to make a personal decision on who they want to politically support. Nonetheless, how can they in good conscious reject the opportunity to give the young people in their districts examples of cultural pride and ethical decision making.
In light of Caroline Kennedy's' endorsement letter, "A President Like My Father." One has to wonder is she out of touch or are they in the dark. She states, that Barack Obama is uplifting and inspiring her children and her.

In addition, she speaks of the fact candidates should be responsible and have ethical people around them.

Also, how can a supposedly African American leader endorse someone that marginalize Dr. King. These are all mind boggling and make you go Humm Humm Humm.

At least an equal number are for each candidate. Maybe Edward's supporters will break the tie. Half of them want to build that bridge back to the good old Clinton days of using Black people for props, and the other half want to move forward and away from that awful image of supporting a disgraced president.

POINT TAKEN...I'LL TELL YOU WHAT I WOULD BE INTERESTED IN HEARING THESE PEOPLE'S REASONS FOR MAKING THE ENDORSEMENTS THEY ARE MAKING. IT IS TRULY NOT(FOR ME AT LEAST) ABOUT BLACK OR WHITE. IT IS ABOUT THE MAJOR DISEASE THAT IS INFECTING THIS NATION OF OURS. YES I SAID OURS!!! THE DISEASE OF SEPARATIONALISM. THERE IS NOTHING THAT IS WRONG WITH AMERICA THAT CAN NOT BE FIXED IF WE CAN GET A MAJORITY OF AMERI CANS TO PUT ASIDE OUR MINUTE DIFFERENCES AND PULL TOGETHER TO ACCOMPLISH A COMMON GOAL. SEN. CLINTON DOESN'T SEEM TO EVEN BE ABLE TO REMOTELY FATHOM THIS IDEA. WHICH IS WHY SHE THOUGHT PRES. JOHNSON WAS THE DIFFERENCE MAKER WITH THE CIVIL RIGHT'S ACT. SHE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND WE HAVE TO MOVE AWAY FROM PRESIDENTS ACTING ALL POWERFUL AND TOWARDS PRESIDENTS AS SERVANTS, TRUE SERVANTS OF THE NEEDS AND WANTS OF THE AMERI-CAN PEOPLE. THERE HAS BEEN ONLY ONE CANDIDATE WHOM EVEN AT THE PRIMARY LEVEL HAS BEEN TRYING TO UNIFY PEOPLE ACROSS ALL LINES EVEN THE PARTY LINES. EVEN WHEN IT COULD DO MORE HARM THAN GOOD FOR HIM HE HAS TRIED TO DO THE RIGHT THING AND FOR THAT HE DESERVES TO BE COMMENDED. WE HAVE TO CUT OUT THE GANG MIND SET AND CULTURE BECAUSE WE ALL, NO MATTER WHAT YOUR RACE, OR SOCIAL STATUS ARE FACING THE SAME DANGERS. AND WE ALL HAVE SOMETHING TO OFFER TO THE CONVERSATION ABOUT SOLUTIONS.
