the question about madrassas seemed totally left field and unnecessary. it's been addressed ... it's a non-issue. and the interviewer said clinton said obama's run was a fairy tale. that wasn't the case either, as obama said when he corrected her. the issue about it being racial was implied by the media and others, but not stated by clinton. obama on the other hand is so quick to go into his stump speech these days. i preferred hearing him before he was a candidate.

I RECENTLY SAW A PHOTO OF A GATHERING OF DEMOCRATIC HOPEFULS. THE AMERICAN FLAG WAS UP AND OBAMA WAS THE ONLY ONE NOT SHOWING RESPECT. HE DID NOT SALUTE, NOR PLACE HIS HAND OVER HIS HEART. I HAVE HEARD REPEATEDLY THAT HE IS VERY DISPRECTFUL TO THE COUNTRY THAT GAVE HIM EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO BE WHO HE IS, WHERE HE IS NOW. THE MILITARY CITIZENS IN THIS COUNTRY DO NOT SUPPORT THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION, WHO SHOWED SUCH BLATANT DISRESPECT DURING THEIR WHITE HOUSE YEARS. IS OBAMA CUT FROM THE SAME CLOTH?

First the flag & military 2 TOTALLY different issues. The flag a symbolic non-issue. The military serious business.
Would you rather have someone symbolically wrap themselves in the flag who would then send young kids in harms way, ill-equipped to fight an illegal war, then provide them with bad medical coverage?

If the 'THE MILITARY CITIZENS' were true to their beliefs they would be marching on Washington outraged at this current administration.

Obama made himself 'who he is', created his own opportunities and the people of Illinois responded in kind. He owes his allegiance to them, the people not a piece of cloth. You know 'the republic for which it stands'.

Didn't Fox news ever explain to you what 'republic' means?

THE Senator Obama interview on education was well done. But why was the technological grand canyon
gap in deeper mathematical fields
not part of Mr. Obama educational
agenda. Almost 0% of black folks
with degree's are in the hot areas of far deeper mathematics and
physics.WILL NPR get the chance to
interview a presidental candidate on
this new divide.

I don't trust Obama because he never really gives you a plan in how he will put in place his health care plan, education plan, etc.... We need someone that understands the issues. The current administration has run us into the ground. The Bill Clinton admin. was able to put people to work and balance the budget to the point of having a surplus at the time he left office. He put intelligent people in to top positions. So I say with america heading to a third world status, thanks to the George Bush regime, can we afford to elect a president with limited experience and a man who voted "present" numerous times while in the Illinois legislature,not taking a position either for or against. He claims to be a christian and yet he has stated he believes in evolution and has been connected to the Islam faith. Why did he get angry when asked about his true faith as a Christian I would be proud to announce my faith. He didn't deny being Muslim but eluded to we should not offend the. Christianity does not except Islam's desire to one day make the world Muslims by any means they can. Remember 9-11, the Iraq insurgency, and all terrorism in the worldl have we ever heard of christian terrorists? All muslims follow the same Koran read it and know their true motives. There are many questions about Obama that has not been answered and Clinton has shown she can choose good people to run top positions in our government. My Vote will either be Clinton first or Edwards not Obama besides his wife would not be a good first lady.

I'm reading some of these posts and I'm left wondering about folks sense of tolerance. Also, maybe a little ignorance thrown in the mix.

So Obama didn't place his hand on his heart . . . I never read where such act was mandatory and if that makes him less American. This is almost sounding like to wear the American flag on the lapel or not. I've seen a few flag wearers in Washington try to bypass the constitution. I don't see the outrage about their patriotism.

To the person who questioned Obama's faith. The man said he's a Christian; who participates in his church as a member. If you don't believe his actions through his patronage, take him at his word. But let me play the devil's advocate; so what if he is a muslim? You claim that there are no "Christian Terrorists." Well, maybe not, but there are Christian fanatics who could blow up abortion clinics and terrorize gays all in the name of doing "God's work." What is the difference?

As a person who's spent time in a country where half of the population were muslims, I can honestly say that most muslims are just decent human beings like other religions. Too bad a few knuckle heads in their fanatism would demean the view of many muslims around the world.

Another thing Dennis, a reason your Vote will not go for Obama is because his wife would not be a good first lady; SERIOUSLY!!! I didn't know Michelle might be the one sitting in the oval office negotiating key decisions for the nation . . . wow, that's a new perspective.

The picture to which the above post is referring is a pretty blatant propaganda picture the anti-Obama wing likes to send around with claims that he refuses to wear a flag lapel pin and say the pledge of allegiance and that he is muslim. This is a paper thin ploy that even a substandard amount of research would quickly destroy if anyone bothered to look. Mr. Obama didn't have his hand over his heart because it was not the pledge of allegiance, it was the national anthem at a fish fry, and standing at attention while facing the flag is also proper form. Obama used to wear the lapel pin after 9/11 but stopped wearing it at some point but that's not disrespectful in any way. And as far as the military aspect goes, please go look up Obama's record on supporting the troops. The man has helped us veterans and shown us so much support that these people trying to pass along this "Obama is anti-American" and that the man is "not patriotic" propaganda should hang there heads in shame and offer apologies to everyone they spread these lies to.
