Did LeBron Really Say THAT to His Mother?

It's the latest tale of the tape: In the second quarter of a recent Cavaliers-Celtics game, LeBron James appears to curse his own mother.

It happened when Paul Pierce committed a hard foul against LeBron. The two became entangled near where LeBron's mother, Gloria, was sitting. She got up to defend her son, and that's when LeBron appears to tell her to "sit your a** down."

Check it out for yourself (around 0:12).

First question: Did he say it? Second question: If LeBron really did say what most people think he said, why did his mother not kill him right there on the court?

Me and my wife were watching the game and we both thought he said what we thought he said. ;) I thought it was funny, she thought it was disrespectful. I can't blame Lebron, I have a similar relationship with my mother. We are very frank in our discussions. No love lost.

I don't fault LeBron. Pierce didn't let LeBron go down and was really trying to break his fall. She should have let him play the game, and not got involved.

You'll can't be serious. It's hard to believe that you felt this was newsworthy and deserving of anything other than laughter.

1)yes, he did say that. 2)He's not dead because his mother realized that he was caught up in the game. Confidence is high that he heard about it after the game and made amends.

If you're trying to own the court you really don't want to seem to need your mother's help... much as she wants to show her protective love.

He said it and I hoped his mother "got with him" after the game. She couldn't embarrass him during the game, though

Anybody who's a basketball aficionado (like I am) knows that Gloria is one "special" case. For a few years, I've always wanted someone to put her in her place; too bad it came from her own son.

Sometimes one must choose the lesser of two evils. Worse headlines would have been made if his mother had actually intervened in the game in some way - from stepping on the court to attempting to strike one of the players involved - either of which could have led to her expulsion and/or arrest. If I were LeBron - I would have done the same thing. The last thing he needs is a overly involved relative.
