Black-Latino Relations in the Race for the White House

The issue between Black-Latino Relations is primarily economic. Instead of both groups seeking to increase their own share of the pie, they have been fighting over the same small piece of the pie. Therefore they are going to continue to pull each other down like crabs in a barrell instead of working together to increase American Minorities' share of the pie called America. A lot of latinos especially older generations think Barack will only favor the black community thus relegating them to the leftovers. But I don't see that happening because, one he won't be able to win a general election or be a successful president catering to one group of people. Two anything he does still will go through congress, who are majority white. What he will do is give the black community a since of hope that it has been missing. Especially for the younger generation of the black community, if you keep trying, put in the work, and increase your knowledge you can overcome adversity.

What seems to get lost in translation is, if Barack Obama becomes president, it can be a win win situation for all communties of color, including Euro-Americans; not just for African Americans.

By Barack Obama becoming president, he can inspire so many young people of color, that they to can achieve, & truly become part of the fabric that makes up America.

He can inspire not only communties of color here in the states, but world wide ! Let us not get caught in this trap in thinking this this is a battle between African Americans/Blacks & Latino Americans.What I believe Barack Obama represents is a world-view that might usher in the age of the universal Man & Women, regardless of hue.

Are you kidding me? It's about recent political election history that shows blacks whether in the Los Angeles Mayoral race where black leaders came out to support the Anglo candidate of the Hispanic and is San Antonio where blacks unite with white political leaders to forge an agenda that does not include Hispanics. Blacks have made many inroads in politics and entertainment and have excluded Hispanics and promote exclusively their own background. Many Hispanics are not blind to this and have memories of elephants. Now blacks are seeking the Hispanic vote where it benefits them and in the name of minorities united-I don't thinks so.
