I am somewhat dismayed listening to the racial analysis of Barak Obama being elected president - as a white middle-aged liberal female voter, I find Senator Obama an exciting presidential candidate not because I believe his election will allow folks to say look race is not an issue in this country, but because I believe he will bring a thoughtful, intelligent presence to the white house - something sorely lacking at the moment.
