I like the song. There is nothing that he said that wasn't true. If the shoe was on the other foot and brittney spears came out with a simular song, would it really be an issue? Certain people are trying to find any excuse to not vote for Obama. It's not as if he wrote the song or even new Luda was making it. Those are Luda's views, not his. He shouldn't be penalized for what another man thinks or his actions. Obama is a great man who can bring change. I know some people don't like change, because it's new and frightful. That fear can turn into hate. We as American's should embrace the change and move foward. We shouldn't allow petty things to stop our growth, pull us back, and take us under.

On another site they talked about reparations. The people bitching about them want handouts and the rest of us want equality in education, the legal system and opportuntity in the job market and higher education. The rest just want a check.. Get over it, because it AIN'T Happening. Presidents are not dictators and the rest of white America.. you know the majority of the votes will not allow it. They simply do not care.

Ludacris may assuredly have a right to his opinion - but in the political climate of our nation, he did not prove to be smart, thoughtful or a real support of Obama. His lyrics were offensive, whether you agree with his views about the people in question or not. Although it would be nice to live in a society where Obama would not be held responsible for the lyrics of someone who supports his candidacy, that is not where we live. Why give McCain's struggling campaign a gift and an even greater reason to create a further racial divide. I have followed Ludacris' career - and have admired other aspects of his work. He failed to be relevant in this song and created a distraction from the issues that matter most.

I am not the least bit interested in hearing his lyrics.Rappers are the last people on this earth to be allowed to voice their opinions.Most of them are foul mouthed idiots with the morals of maggots.Obama does not need any help from him or his kind.Leave that rapping garbage on the streets where it belongs.

That 'political voice' promise from hip hop never materialized. Which wasn't hip hops claim, but a label (or hope) from those who wrote about hip hop and it's meaning. Which sounded good to the hip hop I'm sure. But hey, as history would have it, those shinny objects proved too appealing in the end.
When it (political voice) does arrive and there have been attempts it's completely naive or unsophisticated, take your pick. Doesn't mean they should stop trying, but become more informed. Takes no talent to be or appear angry. Is that all you got?

Rap about why you like Obama and the type of world you envision because of that hope.

Ludacris just went into my pile of "you're not helping" when it comes to Barack Obama's candicacy.

So for Luda to criticize the other candidates or surrogates, he committed gaffes of his own by using ageism and sexism lyrics in his rap.

I do not think it will hurt Obama because it is not like anyone has not said worst and Obama is clearly against this. It's not like he is sitting in Luda's corner egging him on. How can anyone hold Obama responsible? I have not heard the song but I am sure alot of people probably agree just not the way Luda did it.

There is a saying "everyone isn't stupid in an election year, they just get treated stupid".

I think this "issue" falls into that category.

Senator Obama didn't write the lyrics. Luda did. It's his opinion and he is allowed to voice it just like Rush Limba is allowed to voice his.

Most people understand that, and this never should have been an issue. I don't think the "black community" should worry too much about what the "white community" will think about the song; the part of the "white community" that helped put Obama in the race doesn't care, and the part that's afraid of him because he's black wasn't going to vote for him anyway.

Unfortunatly, the only ones that don't seem to understand this are the hundred or so that are in the campaign press pools...

Does Ludacris really think he's helping Obama by producing such lyrics? If he does, it proves he doesn't understand how the masses among the voting general public perceives his work. If Ludacris wants to help Obama, dedicate himself to produce new work void of offensive or controversial language. If he's unwillingly to make positive changes in his own life, do Obama a favor. Send in a major contribution under someone's name the general voting population will think of as an appropriate source. If he truly wants to be supportive, he must stop trying to capitalize off the Obama name by producing works harmful to Obama's campaign.

This song is a perfect example of how hip Obama has become; hip enough to dedicate a Ludacris song to. His image is popular and for obvious reasons, which is why he makes a convincing subject for a popular hip hop song. I know, however, that more and more young people, who are generally thought to fall prey to such popular image, are giving their enthusiastic support to John McCain. I am one--and one of many seeing through the glimmer of his pop stardom.
