This news actually brought tears to my eyes. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family which I am sure will miss him greatly. In interviews he seemed like such a good family man. I admired that and absolutely loved his TV show and his stand up routines.

Well I am gonna rememeber the first time he came out on Def Comedy Jam when Martin Lawrence was the host. His favorite line" I ain't scare of ya" made me an instant fan, and if you ain't never seen it , you better run to Circuit City and get that Gem. R.I. P Bernie Mac

As corny as it may sound, remember, as we cry...God is laughing, so happy to have him Home. HE let us have him, for such a short time..obviously, HE needed him. Maybe its for the other souls within Heaven...maybe they needed someone to give him the laughter and the pleasure that he gave to us. There is never a good answer when someone dies so young, and I hate that he had to die so young, and of illness. So many people die alone, in a car, maybe overturned, on their own and in pain, with issues unresolved with loved ones. Bernie got to have his death in a bed, for the most part, I assume, out of pain, with his loved ones around him, all of them, sharing their love. My grandfather died that way, and it was a beautiful passing. All of us,the family, around him, telling him how much he meant to us, how much he ALWAYS WOULD mean to us, on morphine, out of pain, in some comfort, as much as God allows when you die of illness in a hospital bed, and it was probably the best passing we humans can ask for. All of us, rich or poor, famous, or not, have one thing in common, death. So the best one can get is a "good death", and I believe that's what Bernie got, eventhough, it was way too young. I will miss him greatly, someone he never knew and who never knew him, yet, I will miss him. While we cry, Bernie does not. He is with God, and now God gets to enjoy him, and one day in the future, we will get to enjoy him again, in Heaven, as we did on Earth. For his family, know that millions loved him, how many of us can say that!? Many celebrities are known of course, but how many are missed? Bernie is and always will be missed. Remember, you will be with him again.

His life said it all, he made a pack to do what was right by his family and remained committed. I thank God and Bernie Mac's family for having shared him with us to learn how to be. May our hearts be at peace for having the opportunity to have known such an incredible person. Our beloved departed Bernie Mac represented life so well. He will not be forgotten in the minds and hearts of many. Farewell

One of my favorite memories from Bernie Mac's standup is when he talks about his sister's kids schemes to get milk and cookies from the kitchen late at night. The little boy whispers to his sister, as explanation for why he hasn't yet brought her the cookies: "HIM downstairs."

I was so saddened to hear this brilliant, funny, sweet man had died. ("HIM upstairs.")

My sincere condolences to his family.

Everyone says how much Bernie Mac made them laugh. He made me laugh, too, but what struck me the most (to this day) was the time he made me cry.

One season finale of "The Bernie Mac Show" had the family -- Bernie, his wife, and his nieces and nephew -- returning to Chicago. Sure I laughed at the insanity of traveling with kids, the subplot about Bernie making the family eat Chicago-style hotdogs (they all get sick shortly thereafter), etc.

But the most touching part was when he had to tell the kids how their mother, his crackhead sister, avoids seeing them. She keeps giving excuses, but the kids keep up their hope. Bernie realizes she's going to stand up her own kids.

Then, Bernie is doing his talking-to-the-audience shtick. Oh my goodness. He is at a loss for words, a rare event for Bernie Mac!

Bernie keeps trying to explain, trying to say something to "America," but America, there are no words for situations like this. After a few attempts at words he just looks away and sighs. His face says it all.

This was one of the saddest scenes I've ever seen on tv, certainly one of the most touching and most amazingly acted. I love remembering the times Bernie Mac made me laugh, but I'll never forget the time he made me cry.

Bernie Mac had a calming face and personality, a pleasing presence in the TV shows and movies he performed in. While he will be missed by all has fans over the world, at least, we know that we will be able to remember him and his soul-filling comedy in repeats of all of his shows.
