I watched former President Clinton give his speech... the magic wasn't there. I got the feeling he was mouthing the words, but I didn't feel the conviction. I think Senator Clinton did a far better job selling me that she was supporting Senator Obama unreservedly.

While Joe may not have brought the house down last night, I think he is absolutely the best choice for VP. We'll be hearing a lot more from the Joe Biden we all love and respect in the days and weeks ahead. His Mom is clearly a sweetheart and a source of his wisdom. All in all, I think the Dems are in a very good place.

They did what they were supposed to do. Promote party unity (Clinton), promote Obama (both did that), tell why the Obama/Biden ticket is the way to go (both), and promote Biden (Biden).

Clinton and Biden are excellent speakers, and it showed.

The no experience comment from Clinton was great. He talked about how that same thing was said of him back when he was campaigning and look where it took him. If it is one thing that annoys me about one of the tactics of the GOP, it is that one. Experience is not always needed for success. There are times when experience can impede progress.

Biden did a superb job, in a succinct speech, of linking Bush and McCain, focusing on what Obama/Biden will do, and telling us about himself.

Bill Clinton mesmerized Democrats and liberal thinkers around the world. I'm from Canada and have always loved the way Bill articulates his beliefs and ideas. He's a master communicator, a great humanitarian and sooo attractive. Fortunately Barack Obama and his outstanding running mate, Joe Biden also have these rare qualities. It's going to be a fascinating race but poor John McCain will not be able to outrun these political olympians.
