NPR pays an independent journalist, John Felton, to evaluate its Israeli-Palestinian coverage quarterly. John turned his report in April, but the combination of two week-long business trips, a vacation and other pressing matters means it's coming out now. Felton's report looked into how NPR reported on Israel and Egypt's "blockade" of Gaza long before the latest incident.
