The Youngest Photographer Ever?

It would take some research to figure out who, exactly, is the youngest photographer out there. How would you qualify it? A baby might be able to push a button, but does that make a "photographer"? I mean, I know plenty of adults who can push buttons and still not really take pictures (not naming names).

Still, I don't think anyone would argue that at the ripe age of 3, Ruby Ellenby is pretty young to have a solo photography exhibition. And the critics are polarized: "It's avant-garde!" some cry. "The composition is unsettling, the white balance abhorrent!" others contend.

According to this article in the San Francisco Chronicle, Ruby, the daughter of two photographers, uses a "VTech kids' camera, a Nikon Coolpix, and Mom and Dad's iPhones." Her photos are on display at a restaurant called Moshi Moshi. And, according to her Web site, she's even selling prints.

Looks like Ruby has a pretty shrewd agent (or two). And some big shoes — i.e., slippers — to fill (I'm sorry, I couldn't resist).
