A brave and technologically-hip gnome has moved away from his cozy, pastoral home and settled in New York City. He is documenting his experience in photos on Tumblr but gave us permission to share a few, with his words in the captions.

Looking up and into the real world, a gnome has to hesitate. I was always told to distrust those people, and hid away from them. I am going against my tradition, against my gnome heritage in order to earn a more meaningful existence or at least the awareness of one. NYC: Where gnome dreams are born.
