For reasons appreciated by many and unbeknownst to most, April is apparently dedicated to the nostalgic, yet iconic beauty of the grilled cheese sandwich. So here's a little serving of childhood simplicity as we continue to indulge in our fixation on food photography.
Responding to our call for photos of your favorite foods, photographer Bradley Hawks submitted this American classic from the New York City bistro, The Queens Kickshaw. According to Hawks this grilled cheese features "molten-ribbons of endless strands of fresh mozzarella and shredded cheddar string from each bite on a buttery brioche, served with a cup of a thick and robust, wonderfully hearty and chunky tomato soup."
