We're less than eight hours away from the closing of the polls in Virginia, where we'll find out the winner of the Democratic gubernatorial primary.

But we already have a winner from last week's ScuttleButton contest.

Remember, to win, you simply take one word or one concept per button, add 'em up, and arrive at a familiar saying or a name. Submit your answer and hope you're the person chosen at random. NOTE: You MUST include your name and city/state to be eligible.

And also remember, the answer does not necessarily have to be political. For instance, the answer to a puzzle a while back was "Minnesota Twins" -- not political at all, unless you're thinking Mondale and Humphrey instead of Killebrew and Oliva.

Last week's buttons, in case you forgot:

Elect Dave Durenberger U.S. Senate -- A Republican, he was first elected in Minnesota in 1978.

I Love Math / Science / and Russell Elementary -- No idea where this is from. Besides, school is for suckers.

For President / Charles E. Hughes -- The 1916 Republican nominee for president, he lost to Democratic incumbent Woodrow Wilson.

The Band / The Last Waltz -- Said to be one of the great rock band movies of all time.

So, when you add Dave + Math + Hughes + Band, you kind of get ...

The Dave Matthews Band ... who, by the way, will be playing tonight at the Molson Amphitheatre In Toronto.

And the winner, selected at random among the correct responders, is (drum roll) ... Allison Thomas of Prescott Valley, Ariz.

A very nice note, by the way, from ScuttleButton fan Stuart Friedman of Cleveland: "Thank you for these puzzles. Along with Will Shortz's Sunday Puzzle, this is one of the ways I keep from going brain dead week after week."
