Back in 2006, back in the dark days when Political Junkie was a weekly column and not a daily blog, this was my pre-Thanksgiving message:
I have a confession to make that isn't much of a confession: I love doing this column, and I really and truly appreciate the back-and-forth I have with all of you who have become as addicted to it as I am.
And here's another confession: "Political Junkie," needless to say, couldn't exist without you — your questions, observations, comments and corrections, as well as your thoughts about NPR, and how we cover politics, and how I deal with it in this column. I'm not a fan of the occasional name-calling, which I get now and then. But without question, the disagreements and differences you may have with me are part of the relationship (unless we're talking about the Yankees). And so, in the holiday spirit, I want to say how thankful I am for all of you who read this stuff faithfully, and who each week make it better and smarter.
I feel exactly the same today.
Have a wonderful — and safe — Thanksgiving holiday. I'll see you when I return on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
Note: Have no fear, Podcast fans. Ron and I recorded this week's episode of "It's All Politics" earlier today. It should be up and available on iTunes later this afternoon.
