I'm off to Charlottesville, Va., where member station WVTF is holding a Grand Opening this weekend for its brand new satellite studio.

Created in the 1970s as a laboratory for broadcast students at Virginia Western Community College, WVTF — based in Roanoke, Va. — covers the entire central and southwest Virginia region, plus southern West Virginia and northern North Carolina.

You're all invited to see the new satellite studio at 216 West Water Street in Charlottesville, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Also at the weekend event: NPR Ombudsman Lisa Shepard. (For the record, she's already been inundated with complaints about things I write and say, so you need not bother to add to the list.)

Hope to see you there!
