Contest: How Many House Democrats Vote No On Health Care?

The vote in the House is Sunday. There's no question about how GOP members will vote; none is expected to vote in favor.

The issue here is the Democrats. Thirty-nine Dems voted against the bill last November. Several of them — notably Dennis Kucinich (OH), Bart Gordon (TN), Betsy Markey (CO), John Boccieri (OH) and Allen Boyd (FL) — have already indicated they will switch to yes. One, Parker Griffith (AL), became a Republican. Another, Eric Massa (NY), is ... well, let's just say he now has an unlisted number. And we're tickled about that.

And thus, the contest. My guess is that it passes; I can't imagine it going down. But how many Democrats will vote no? The person who comes the closest to the correct number not only gets his/her name in this blog — a lifelong dream for many Americans — but they win ... um ... something. I haven't figured that part out yet. But it will be a valuable item from a past campaign.

Tell me how many Democrats will vote NO in Sunday's vote. Send your pick to politicaljunkie@npr.org. Deadline is Saturday night at midnight.
