Democrats Calling Off St. Paul War Room

The Democrats are also changing their plans (and tone) with the onslaught of Hurricane Gustav. The DNC sent an email announcing the cancellation of its "media welcome reception" in St. Paul "in light of the situation along the Gulf Coast."

The tone of the cancellation note differs greatly from yesterday's snarky release that urged journalists to stop by the DNC "war room" called the "More of the Same Media Center." The Republicans also ran their own war room from Denver, as NPR's Jeff Brady reported last week, calling it the "DNC Rapid Response Headquarters" and staffing it with recognizable party figures such as former Mass. Gov. Mitt Rommey and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

One would hope the democrats would think about their fellow americans before their own needs. I can't help but think that the obama campaign will use the catastrophe of others for self promotion. I am ashamed to call myself a democrat after this obamanation became the democrat's candidate for president. And even more ashamed that he would try to further his campaign in this manner.

In what manner? Theyre canceling the war room out of respect of the need to help those in the hurricane bipartisanly. Did you read the story?...

I am very proud of Sen. Obama for taking a stance on Hurricane Gustav. He has already mobilized his supporters to contribute to the relief effort via the internet. He righfully decided not to go to the gulf cost to avoid putting more pressure on the relief effort. There will be plenty of time to respond to the McCain-Palin ticket which is quickly morphing into another Bush-Chaney extention.

Mary Ann, what do you think the GOP has done for the last seven years? they rode the coattails of 9/11 to establish their own illegal policies.
