McCain Camp's Response to Obama Speech

Before Barack Obama finished delivering his nomination acceptance speech, McCain spokesman Tucker Bounds was circulating this cutting response to reporters:

Tonight, Americans witnessed a misleading speech that was so fundamentally at odds with the meager record of Barack Obama. When the temple comes down, the fireworks end, and the words are over, the facts remain: Senator Obama still has no record of bipartisanship, still opposes offshore drilling, still voted to raise taxes on those making just $42,000 per year, and still voted against funds for American troops in harm's way. The fact remains: Barack Obama is still not ready to be President.

Leaving aside for now the allegations in the release, didn't McCain's earnest congratulatory ad say that he and Obama would be "back at it" tomorrow? So much for acceptance-speech goodwill...

It's interesting that McCain states that Obama is against offshore drilling -- really, why is that a bad thing? I oppose offshore drilling and think that there are other solutions. Why not immobilize our other resources rather than exhaust what we have and save it when we really have no option?? Throughout Obama's speech, I felt that he was honest, compassionate, and driven for change...it will be interesting to see if McCain can deliver something that can give me chills like Obama did last night.

At least he wants to help our Economy out. McCain thinks the ecomomy is just fine, why change it? The rich get richer and everyone else helps pay for big business to get richer. McCain doesnt think the USA economy is suffering. We need change not another 8 yrs of a recession.

This was Triump des Willens version 2008. Leni should have been there to document it. Nuremberg 1934 all over again.

Was there another convention going on last night? Whoever wrote the McCain camps response seems not to have been tuned in to the one I was watching.

Not to cross a line into crudeness, but this amounts to penis envy on the part of Republicans.

If there's anything the world needs right now, it is a man with courage and devout interest in the populace and world at large; and the man for that task is Barack Obama.
