Lonely Nader Pours Heart Out To Parrot

Of all of the candidates running this year. Nader would probably make the best President. His experience working for the interests of the people, and his rational approach to organization and action.

It's a shame that liberals have developed an irrational hatred of him. It's a shame that conservatives are ignorant of him.

The neglect of Nader's campaigns for President is a manifestation of the collapse of our society.

Mr. Nader warned us years ago of the danger of deregulation of investment banks and their risky schemes. Now we have to live with the ugly fallout. Corporate crime is is hurting us all!
A vote for him would be a protest vote against the "business as usual" democrates and republicans.

Jody, after seeing Ralph get in bed with the very corporations he once protested, I'm sick of seeing him around on the public stage.

Ross, I think we know which party has been pushing the strongest for deregulation. Now, a childish person would say, "no one cares as deeply as I do about these things! You all suck! I'm going to go do what I want and you can all go to hell!" Or, an adult would say, "How can I make the world a better place *right now*? Well, it obviously can't all be fixed in a day, and I obviously won't get everything I want immediately. How can I take a step - just one step - towards improving things?"

As opposed to holding your breath and throwing a tantrum, which is how I see those who deliberately make themselves (and their issues) politically irrelevant in this fashion.

I understand that the two-party system sucks. Look up plurality voting vs. other voting systems. America is simply stuck with it now - there are other voting systems that would allow third parties a fair chance, but the two parties running the show will block any effort to change the voting system. So either join the process, or stay home.

If you really care about your issues, don't just sit on the sidelines and cry because neither side is rushing to choose wonderful you for their team. Try this instead: join their team, work hard, become team captain, and then you write the new playbook. That's how it's done.

I'm thinking about voting Nader in November. I gotta say, I didn't love the video. But I do think he would make the best president. I do think he would make the best president. In my mind, he has the best stance on all the issues, from Iran to off-shore drilling.

Over the last few weeks, it's seemed to me that the two party system makes American politics seem like the super bowl. You root for your team, and badmouth the other one. What the heck happened to the issues?

Nader would send Obama and McCain home crying if he were allowed to debate with them. NPR is complicit in the "ignore or belittle" game with respect to emerging party and independent candidates. The video was a bit weird but it made the point that most of the media would rather cover something inconsequential than a candidate who isn't a member of one of our dominant parties.

Thanks, Kasreyn! Haven't we been there nd done that enough already? What does Nader do for the US in between his attempts to be president. The narcissism of this is unbearable. He may once have been a really good guy, but now he has become irrelevant because of his own rigidity. We have a 2-party system and the stakes are too high (some would certainly argue they were already too high in 2000)to use your vote in a way that it has no chance to have any impact on what actually happens. Sorry, the world is made up of shades of gray, not balck and white.

The video was brilliant. It spelled out exactly what the video was pertaining too. The video was stating that the media does not cover important issues when it comes to the hardships of the American people! Even my 74 year old mother told me that she never sees any media on Nader in the news! Is the media forcing a presidential candidate? To say the polls only show the American people are only interested in 2 candidates is outrageous considering that a lot of Americans don't even know they have a choice! Or, have been brainwashed by the media into thinking that they don't have a choice! The media as we know it, needs major readjustments!

Example: Consider an American on a limited income going to the store to buy ice-cream. Is she/he going to buy a store brand which is cheaper or, Ben & Jerry's and Haagen-Dazs. Let's say for a moment the store brand wasn't available and only the (2) more expensive were available. The customer might just skip purchasing the ice-cream all together, thereby causing loss in sales. So just like the store owner, the media is a direct result on why our country is either not voting or, voting for someone even if they don't share in his/her views. Americans are just not caring any more. Who do we blame for this? Media? Ourselves? Why can't we see that there are Americans running for office that really care about the direction of our country? Why? Why choose a president that will make our country worse of than it is. Why? Why?
