Palin Officially the VP Nominee

The Republican National Convention has nominated Sarah Palin for Vice President by acclamation.

Before Palin's fiery speech last night, the online oddsmakers at InTrade had the chances of her dropping off the ticket in double-digits. Today she's the pitbull-in-lipstick heroine of the GOP.

Hey, if you look up Sarah Palin's entry in Wikipedia, you will notice that she was born in Sandpoint, Idaho. And if you look up Sandpoint, Wikipedia notes that white supremacist Neo - Nazi groups such as Aryan Nation settled in the area around Sandpoint. That's where Mark Fuhrman of the OJ Simpson trial settled. NPR, please do a little digging and please clarify if Sarah's family had any ties to any neo - nazi movements. She scares me. She really does. Like the Aryan Nation merged with the Republican party.

(my sister & I were discussing tonight and we had both recalled watching (I think it was a Frontline series on the presidents). What we both remembered was George HW Bush organizing the Texas Republican party as a backlash to the Democrats civil rights movement... and GHW Bush using code words that were racist to win the 1988 election... Willie Horton, wasn't it?

We need to know a lot more about Palin.
I found this editorialvery easily when I googled her name and it greatly disturbed me:

Stella you are not very informed as most of your liberal counterparts...you all want a good looking, well-versed individual to be President instead of the credentials that our fore-fathers had. Most of your counterparts vote the ticket instead of researching your candidates. Did you know that Obama has not even voted half the time while in the senate? Or that his own brother lives in Africa & makes $1 per month? If he can't help his own family, how can he help a Nation? His church of 20 years where Reverend Jeremiah Wright was preacher, preached that the USA caused 9/11 and that Blacks were above everyone else. Google him please. Were you one of the 5 million people that came out to receive the $700 tax refund that GW Bush help provide even though these 5 million people had not paid taxes the last 5 years? The Democrats fail to recall the protection our nation has received with GW Bush forming the Patiot Act, requiring air marshalls on all flights and preventing over 20 attacks on our country. While Clinton cut our defense & closed half of the Military bases & failed to kill or catch Bin Ladin in 1998 when he had the chance. Your beloved Borack Hussein Obama, feels that you did not exist at conception or would be fine with killing a baby if at 9 months the mother didn't want the child! Your mother or mine wouldn't do that! But who knows, you may be a supposed Christian that also believes abortion is fine even partial birth...which dismembers the baby even in the 3rd tri-mester. This is what Borack Obama voted for...

Gloria - I'm sure you feel you have done your research as well. It's really easy to take things out of context and twist the meaning. I would like to clarify one point you made and that is about the church Barack belonged to. His church is part of a national church called the United Church of Christ - look it up www.ucc.org This church has it's roots as congregationalist, one of the earlier churches of our founding fathers. I am proud to say I attend a UCC church. Just like many churches however, there are differences within the individual church.

Gloria: Your pro - life comments make me think of a newspaper ad a group of religious paid for during the last election. It said that life does not stop after birth, and if you say that you are pro - life, the proof of it is passing legislation that supports the family. For example, President Dubya was elected on a pro - life platform. So then why does he cut funding for Headstart for 6 years to the point that it is underfunded? And do you think it is morally right for the President to veto the Children's Health Incentive program twice? And what about Gov. Palin cutting the funding for Covenant House, the Alaska program that provided for some of the needs of teen mothers including giving the moms the opportunity to learn how to be a good mother, how to respond to a baby's needs. I'm amazed that this country won't let our kids cast a vote until they are 21, but they can enter into a legal contract called marriage at age 17.
