If you're the GOP and your chips are down
What you going to do? You take a look around
You jump on the wagon, find a pretty girl,
And you tout her as a fighter to the rest of the world

She's the perfect yes-man with a brand new face
That's what it takes to reenergize the base
She's young and still holds the old ideals
And that's evangelical sex appeal

Don't worry about the lack of foreign experience
It's a little issue; a minor inconvenience
No point fretting over minor scandals
We'll just erase those incriminating emails

A little new blood is what the Doc prescribes
To give grandpa the boost in the public's eyes
All those stupid Dems will be scratching their heads
Trying to figure out where their advantage went

Then all you got to do is keep her mouth shut
Only vague responses to the Hows and the Whats?
Image is king and it's how we've conspired
Substance is secondary if it's even required

It's a little thing we like to call politickin'
And when it's done right its finger-lickin'
You take your message and give it a spin
Throw in some mud slinging and you've got the win

So rally those troops, let's scream and shout
Winning at all cost is what it's all about
Add a little more lipstick to this pig

Election time and everyone takes sides
The media reports hypocrisy, lies and bribes
Each camp sounds out, points fingers 'they're to blame'
But when you get down to it, it's all the same

Liar, cheater, moron, racist
Commie, liberal, pinko, atheist
Here is the summation of what we read
For many it's sufficient and all they need

Priest and republicans, well they like the boys
While evangelical and democrats, treat women like toys
Where's the distinction? What should we think?
Goes to my point, both sides stink

So stand by your political cause
Your champions give you no pause
And for goodness sake, bring nothing new
Like a third, fourth, fifth party thrown into the political stew
