This morning's broadcast election coverage continued a strange and disturbing trend at NPR: while other serious media are moving on to the Obama-McCain race, NPR tells us that "the nation's eyes are turning to West Virginia" to watch Senator Clinton pull off a victory. I would have hoped to hear a discussion about how pro-Clinton West Virginians are reacting to the nearly-inevitable Obama nomination, but instead we got a starry-eyed description of the wonderful Clinton family. It's time to give up the dream, folks, and start reporting facts.
Sure it's scripted, but also spot on because it speaks to the future with unencumbered clarity as only children can do. So to all those wonderful moms (and dads) out there, you taught your kids well! After all aren't we the mentors responsible for instilling a One World generation and isn't this the perfect time to set aside our baggage and give these kids hope for a better world than the one we leave? It's not about race or gender, it's all about giving our children a fighting chance to straighten out the mess we've made of it.
Happy Mothers Day mom (after 60 years I'm still Georgie...)
Having heard on NPR that Hilery Clinton is reminding people that she is a mother, I find it more perplexing than ever that she would cast a vote to go to war when she knows the pain and anguish a mother would feel if her daughter (or son) was killed in that war. My wife, the mother of my step children, is also confused as to why we are spending our tax dollars (and our childerns and there childerns tax dollars) on a war and not on education. We are struggling to keep our daughter in college and pay rediculessly high gas prices. All because we are in a war that profits the corperate croonies of this administration.
There is only one person running for President that truely stands for change. Vote for your childerns future as well as yours. VOTE OBAMA!
Excellent Video, this is the change the USA needs and wants. I am a mom and a grandmom and I am voting for Obama, not just for me but for my children, their children and their childrens children. That quote actually came from my republican father who intends to vote for Obama in November!!!!!!!!!
I think I'm going to vomit, how unbelievably sappy! In the immortal words of my mother, "Yeah, well if Stewey Hamilton across the street told you to run out in front of a car, would you do it?" My mother understood that it was her job to teach me what to do, not do what I wanted her to do.
