Talk Radio, Meta Style

Gonzales, Gonzales, Gonzales. We can't stop talking about him here in Washington, D.C. But the story of the possibly indecent disposal of eight federal prosecutors is playing big here in the capital (and in the Capitol). How is the story faring on call-in radio talk shows outside the Beltway? We're checking in with a few different hosts this hour, so if you want to hear some good radio voices ... tune in!

Of course everyone cares! More added to the mountain of evidence that the Administration and its party will do anything to get and keep power. They flout the law, the constitution, the very foundations of Democracy. How many examples do we need? Illegal wars, illegal wire-tapping, torture, people held indefinitely without charge, conspiracy in the Plame affair and retaliation... They are so arrogant in their efforts they don't even bother to make-up or coordinate a reasonable cover story! The pattern of abuse of power is plain. On a number of counts, multiple Administration officials should be impeached, most prominently Mr. Bush. These criminals must be held to account so future representative of the United States of America are clear this behavior will not be tolerated and holds severe consequences.

I do think that people in San Francisco are outraged by the political firings (and how they were handled), but not by Kevin Ryan leaving.

There were critical articles about him including this one from last October.

These U.S. Attorneys weren't operating private fiefdoms. They;'re acting as if they bwere independent contractors not subject to supervision. It's unfortunate that the administration was not forthcoming in just delcaring that these appointees at will were not following policy guidelines, for example, one refusing to prosecute less than 300 pounds of marijuana in a shipment so that the smugglers tailored their loads to avoid prosecution

This is na veritable tempest in a teapot, much ado about nothing. The Chicago U.S. Attorney should have also been axed.

Who do these people think they are? Are they iunvested in their office? Not by law? What a misrepresentation by the media to elevate this to an issue.
