Some of the either/or situations are not realistic. I do not walk well and will leave a Non-Perishable item in a wrong place in the grocery. Some of your questions are well suited to your locale. I remember a few years back when the INS found illegals(Canadians) working here in Northern Michigan. Somehow it seemed funny at the time.

The survey provides an interesting opportunity to see how others behave. But I think an opportunity was missed. The Survey presents a Yes or No choice. However, the questions are not black and white but actually should be evaluated on a scale. For example, I would never 'steal' cable TV service but hooking up to my neighbor service. However, I would add an additional TV to the service I'm already paying for. Technically the cable company would consider that stealing, However, I'm already paying for the service so I consider it a fair use of the technology and services.

Almost all decisions in life are made on a scale. We as a society are polarized by not allowing shades of Grey. Abortion is always allowable or always evil; You???re with me or you're my enemy; Everyone should own any gun or no guns should be allowed. You live in a Red or a Blue state. The Democratic congress passed .. (Never Congress passed).

"Either Or", seldom "Yes, No, Maybe",

We think in words, how ideas are presented and discussed governs how we respond and what critical decisions made. (More likely they never get made.)

Critical thinking requires all points of view be considered, even if they are Grey.

Questions 4&5-I would feel unsafe stopping myself but wouldn't hesitate to call the police. Is the Border Patrol the police?
Question 9-I would kill to protect my family. I do not, have never, will probably never own a gun. I have never fired a gun. I would use a gun or baseball bat or knife or my own hands to protect my family, whatever was avalible. It does not mean I disagree with the idea of gun control.
Question 14-This would depend on where I live. There are times I would not allow my 7-year-old out of my sight.
Question23-I don't watch T.V. I would sleep, play computer, go to a movie... Is that the same idea?

I am not a good candidate for surveys. I usually answer with "that depends". Most of your questions were easy "yes" or "no" answers. How refreshing to answer a survey with no noticable slant.

By the way, I always taste the grapes before I buy them. Is that stealing?

There were a number of questions I wanted to answer "Yes, but..." or "No, but...". I'd read my teen's diary if conditions warranted, but wouldn't do it casually. I wouldn't feed diners food dropped on the floor, unless it hadn't been cooked yet and could be cleaned. In fact I have done that. But usually I eat those pieces - lacking a canine in the household, I'm the family dog. Interesting quiz, especially the first question. I look forward to the results.

I think it will be interesting to see how you interpret some of the answers. In all cases, I would offer work or assistance to an undocumented immigrant, but that is because I believe that an immigration policy of exclusion is unethical, and we should allow anyone into America who wants to work and is not otherwise a criminal.

It would be nice to send my kids to an ethnically diverse university, but many other factors would play into that decision. I think the "it depends" nature of some of these questions will make it difficult for you to interpret these results on the air. A scale for these answers with "Agree strongly" at one end and "Disagree strongly" at the other would be a better approach.

It was annoying for some of the questions not to have a choice labelled "It depends." Concealing a minor defect is a house is a lot less serious than a really major flaw, for example. (Yes, I did recently move.)

I would certainly hope that no one answered NO to the question "Would you leave a note if you hit a parked car?" Aside from being unethical, here in Arizona it is against the law (it's a violation of the Motor Vehicle Code under the Arizona Revised Statutes). The code states the "the operator of a vehicle upon striking an unattended vehicle, shall attempt to locate the owner of the vehicle struck. If the owner of the vehicle struck cannot be located, the operator of the other motor vehicle shall leave a note posted containing their name, address, telephone number, insurance company and policy number."

As for the questions regarding providing aid to a person in distress, I would indeed stop to provide aid. Legal status of the party in distress should never be considered when determining if aid should be provided. In fact, federal law prohibits that from being considered. If I thought they were illegals, I would still provide any aid necessary. Whether I would report them would depend on the specific circumstances of the situation.

Question 9- While I said yes, I would never kill someone using a gun to protect my family, I would use a gun to warn off or at worst shoot the person in the leg. I would want who ever is threatening my family to face legal justice. The questions definatly needed a scale of 1-5 or 1-10 of how likely you would do the certain act. I also don't agree with hiring illegals, but if someone was in desprate need of some work, I probably would find something for them to do if I knew them or their situation.

You asked if people would stop to help an illegal alien in distress. My first reaction is who would first ask a person if they were legal or not? I have strong feelings about the mess on our borders and the need to not only stem the tidal wave of illegals but to deprt more of the ones who are here...regardless of their country of origin.

I have assisted people in distress several times. Never did it occur to me to ask their immigration status. My main concern first was for their wefare. However, every time I stop to assist, I am very careful about what I try to do because my biggest fear is that if the person has a bad outcome, they or their family will try to sue me and claim that my ministrations were the cause of the bad outcome. I was a registered nurse for many years and MANY nurses have told me they would never stop or assist outside of family for this very reason.No good deed goes unpunished.
