Congress is home this week for the Memorial Day break (I only get a day off, why do they get a week!) and things are quiet in Washington. Except for the arguments over Iraq. Oh, and immigration. And Fred Thompson's announcement (that he'll announce). Yeah, and that 2008 election. OK, maybe not so quiet. Just because Congress is home, doesn't mean the country stops... and neither does Ken Rudin. Our political junkie takes on everything from Iraq to Iowa, and we find out why liberal anti-war groups are warning some of the Democrats they helped elect. Questions for Ken? Political junkie or not, isn't it still quite early to be talking about presidential primary selections? I have to say I'm tired of the 2008 election already. I almost wish it would work the way the Republican party in Ohio did it for years - you lined up and took your turn. Things screwed up last year, which is why Ohio now has a Democratic governor. Sounds like a national screw-up on the order of the 2000 election, in both parties, is in the making.
The Democtarts didn't vote to de-fund the war. Why is this being framed as a "mystery" on NPR (a non-commercial network)? Senators and Representatives answer to the LOBBYISTS and PACS who fund them...not to voters. Do we need a better example?
