This week with our Political Junkie, Ken Rudin, we're talking about the investigation of Sen. Ted Stevens (R-AK) (as was astutely pointed out at our editorial meeting yesterday, in Alaska, there's no need to stash money in your freezer if you want to keep it cold... which is not to say the Senator IS hiding money, of course), and the will-he-or-won't-he game with Fred Thompson gets further complicated by the revelation he may not have the bucks to back up a run. What political stories have got you going this week?
I'm curious what is going on with Bill Richardson. He has a legitimate resume, but does he have a shot?
What is going to be real interesting to see is how long it takes the Republican Media Machine to spin the "gridlock" in congress as the fault of the Democrats.
The best defense is a good offense and they are pretty offensive. How it usually goes is: the Republicans, after getting the country in the worst mess in a generation, hinder any real reforms and with the help of a few Democrats, are successful in making sure nothing is done. They then blame the Democrats for not doing what the Republicans fought so hard to keep them from doing. By the time Fox and the other Republican shills on the radio waves are done, people will think that it was Hilary and Harry Reid who got us into Iraq.

There is only one distinction between Republicans and Democrats when either party finds itself in the minority in Congress.
Both resort to obstruction.
The distinction? The Republicans are more competent at it.
