People seem to have a love/hate relationship with No Child Left Behind. At first glance, it makes sense... schools have to perform well, and face punishment if they don't. It has plenty of backers. Critics will tell you, though, that the law has hamstrung public schools with impossible goals and not enough funding to reach them. Whoever is right, there's little argument that something needs to change in the public schools. Rudy Crew spent time at the head New York city's school system, and is now in charge of the fourth largest system in the country, in Miami-Dade county. And, in a new book he offers answers.
