Innocent at Abu Ghraib
By now, the name Abu Ghraib carries with it a whole host of ugly associated words... torture, abuse, brutalized detainees, and worse. But what about the folks there who were doing good work? The facility there is the size of a small town, which means the vast majority of servicemen and women were not involved in the horrors that transpired in the prison. Army Reserve nurse and Lt. Colonel Deanna Germain was one of those multitudes, and she treated service people and prisoners alike while all the time rumors... and then hordes of journalists searching for details about the abuse in the prison.... swirled.
