The Juice in Jail

Oh, O.J. I have no idea what he did in that hotel room in Vegas, but I do know that he's in jail awaiting a hearing for it. And once again, people are talking about O.J. Simpson. Was a gun involved? Was he setup? Is race an issue? What was he thinking? It's up to the courts to decide the facts, but the public will make up their own minds. And, as Earl Ofari Hutchinson points out, they are...

Whether the police did rush to judgment as Simpson claims -- and there's probably a little wiggle room to debate the magnitude of the charges -- and he eventually stands trial, the chatter from most will be that a killer is finally getting at least some of his due. Others will say that even Simpson can be a victim of a vindictive and unforgiving criminal justice system. The truth as always may lie somewhere between the two views. In any case, Simpson will do his best to make sure that an unbelieving world believes that even he can be falsely accused.

What do you believe? Do you even care about O.J. Simpson?

Heavens, no, I don't still care! OJ Simpson is the latest celebrity to give the 24-hour news channels something to talk about. Can't they pick up something that might have some lasting importance in the nation or the world? In fact, I'm even a little disappointed that NPR is giving this more than mere mention.

Say it ain't so: OJ hype on NPR/TOTN!

I think OJ has frontal lobe damage from taking too many hits in football...Poor ability to make decissions, no sense of cause and effect, and lack of social understanding...Did he really think that writing a book called.."if I did it" was a good idea. If he did...brain damage

IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME FOR OJ TO ACT OUT AGAIN. HE CLEARLY PROVES HIMSELF AS AN UNSTABLE AND IRRATIONAL PERSON. THE MAN NEEDS HELP! HOPEFULLY HE WILL FIND IT IN PRISON!

Besides O.J.'s house in Florida that Can't be taken, he get's his NFL pension of $10,000 p/month or more. But I am sure, in order to make any OTHER money that could be taken by the Goldman's et al, that he's using his personal items in an "underground" market and it makes sense he would include the police.

I think that this time around the O.J. phenom transcends race, celebrity status etc. It just seems to fall into what sells. For the record, I don't care if he did it or not (either crime). I am a 32 year-old black male and I listen to many of the shows on NPR, especially TOTN. I can tune in to (once or twice a month) Fox and the other play play/propaganda news stations to hear about O.J.,Paris, Michael(Vick/Tyson/Jackson), and other so-called celebrities. Keep me on the real issues that really have an effect on my income, family, and way of living, as well as real social/economic/health/technological issues. I know that you can't live in an isolated bubble as if it is not going on ,but please just touch on it and move to other more important issues, because they are not worth that much of my ear time. Keep up the good work on the good stuff though!

Goldman is just that a GoldDigger, he reminds me of some fake book dealer who sells his story to feed his unommon trite for demoralization.

Yeah, poor OJ. You guys are sick. He is a killer. Hopefully he rots in prison.

OJ, for better or worse, is a celebrity who does high profile stupid things on a fairly regular basis. When he does them it's news. At least according to the media. It has nothing to do with his color or race. Britney Spears does similar stupid things. Is she in trouble and getting arrested because she's white? No, it's because she does stupid things. That's the same reason OJ is in jail. He does stupid things.

I don't understand How you can say he's the victim of an unforgiving criminal justice system when he walks free from murder.

Sent by susan | 12:42 PM ET | 09-19-2007

I wouldn't say Goldmans a golddigger. The man lost his son and the man that he beleives did it was not convicted for the murder.
