My pick is Kathleen Sebelius. I think George Will was right on a few months ago when saying that strategic considerations in choosing a VP are overrated. People talk about strategic reasons for Jim Webb and other but to me the most important qualification for a VP is the qualification to ascend to the presidency through succession or a tragedy. I don't want Jim Webb for president or Wes Clark or Joe Biden. I like a Kathleen Sebelius presidency. And she probably delivers Kansas in the general.

Seeing the things that Chuck Hagel has been saying on TV in several places in recent days (promoting his new book), he'd make a perfect VP for Obama. He brings the military and security credentials, is solidly against the conduct of the war, and fits Obama's promise to reach across the aisle.

My hope for Obama's running mate is Gen. Wesley Clark. As Supreme Allied Commander of NATO, he has extensive foreign policy and military experience that Obama will need to compete with McCain's 'war hero' image.

Please correct the listener who added the percent of the population that is female (51%) and the percent of the population that is African American (14%) -- thus rendering all women white and all African American males. Reminds me of the title of a book by African American feminists: "All the Women were White, All the Blacks were Men, But Some of Us are Brave."

Also, take it from a feminist who voted for Obama: Casey would be a terrible choice for him if he wants to woo back feminist women, given the Casey family's opposition to Choice.

I started to dream about a President Obama shortly after his speech at the 2004 Democratic convention (which my wife attended, so I watched closely on TV). My first thoughts back then were Obama/ (John) Edwards, which at the time seemed so unlikely, given Senator Edwards's Presidential ambitions. Now, however, I believe he would be receptive to the call. Youth, optimism, civility....I can dream, can't I?

fantasy ticket -
i want obama to win the delegate count and the popular election, but then have it stolen by Hilary. it will disgust the democrats proving she is the ultimate insider and obama won't be able accept a vice president position. these actions would leave to door open for a Kucinich, Paul ticket. it's perfect you get the votes from libertarian republicans (my father) who are sick of this war and sagging economy. and you'd get the socialist 24 year olds, (myself) that never wanted us in this war. not only would these two have us out of iraq immediately but we'd have billions of dollars funneled towards renewable energy research and for once a real conversation happening in washington. what better way to land in the middle than being pulled from the two extremes with no care for the worthless political parties of our current system.

My Democratic 'dream ticket' would be Barack Obama for President and Sen. Carl Levin, of Michigan, for VP. Levin voted against the War in Iraq and, coming from Michigan, his choice would go a long way toward soothing the hurt feelings among Michigan Democrats over the primary rules dispute. Also, he has a lot of experience and would added 'gravitas' to the ticket.

I tried for the whole segment to call the Democratic # and it was busy, but only heard two Democratic
interviews. Was this on purpose? Any-
way, my choice of a V.P. for Clinton:
N.Y. Gov. David Paterson. Reason(s): he has a LOT more government experience
than Obama; he is well liked on both
sides of the aisle in N.Y.'s statehouse
(he's a uniter); and he has aired his dirty laundry and survived. Plus, I have not heard him use the RACE card to
coerce voters into his camp. And we (2) will vote for McCain if Obama is the other choice.
