Inside Barry's Head

Yes, Barry, not Barrie. Senator Barry Goldwater may have misspelled his name, but it didn't make him any less influential. Today, at the Newseum, we'll be remembering the man whose ideas sparked a movement -- with his son, former California Congressman Barry Goldwater Junior, and John Dean. They've published a book of his private writings, called Pure Goldwater, which collects a number of ideas and feelings about Nixon, conservativism, and his real feelings about the rise of the far right. Questions? Post 'em here. Plus, we're kicking the whole thing off with our regular hit of the Political Junkie -- that's Ken Rudin, inside the Newseum, causing trouble I expect.

Question... How about his relationship with Nelson Rockefeller?

Sent by George | 2:25 PM ET | 04-16-2008

It is stunning to hear coverage of these sorts of politicians by TOTN. I now understand why the political coverage by this show is so offensive to me-- clearly TOTN has an arch conservative agenda. I want you to know that TOTN is singlehandedly responsible for my decision to stop supporting NPR. I realize there is zero chance of this blog being published, but if a human being reads this, I beg of you to communicate to Neal Conan that he has really hurt public radio by disenfranchising those of us liberals (currently your largest base of support) who despise Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater. How did NPR get to this place????

Re Barry Goldwater: .. please do not put him in the same conv. with Ronald Reagan. There is no comparison. I am & have been all my life a liberal Democrat. I have always had great respect for Barry Goldwater. "Ronald Reagan was no Barry Goldwater" Reagan introduced division & polarization into national politics in the US. Reagans true descendants were Richard Nixon & George Bush. Goldwater was a great man ....... Efrain A. Ramirez ... Pittsboro, NC ..... Liberal Democrat

The fact that CBS is farming out their news is nothing new. Ever since Dan Rather was silenced by our FOOL President we have been getting a watered down version so now we are reduced to have to wait for Micheal Moore to do our investigating for us.
This is why we are in a war without end because the NBC's,CBS's and the CNN's have been neutered by our Gestapo government.

God help us all!!

There is a reason for the first amendment being first!!
