R.I.P Bo Diddley

Who Cares?
Talk of the Nation is becoming a 60 minutes type gossip talk show, much like Fresh Air.

There is important news and issues to investigate in our world. This "talk of the nation" should involve news, analysis, and journalism into the issues that affect our world. Entertainment, sports, Sex and the City etc... are not relevant when we have elections, global warming, war, economic uncertainty, and an energy crisis to untie them all. We don't have time for gossip!

Stop with the entertainment and start with the journalism!

I have seen Bo Diddley several times and was always amazed at his showmanship. Slowly but surely our living national treasures are slipping away.

This is to rebuff what Rocky said with his "Who Cares?" comment. He complains that the mention of the passing of Bo Diddley should not be in the Talk of the Nation Blog because it "should involve news..." etc. He suggests that more important things like "elections, global warming, war..." etc are the issues which should be addressed at this blog. I would like to suggest that the death of an artist of such unique talent is a milestone in the history of mankind. We are not just political animals but artists as well. Let us not forget that the death of one man can change our history. Archduke Franz Ferdinand's assination was what started the first World War. Someone once said the death of one man diminishes us all. In this case the death of one such talent affects us all. So, Rocky, don't be so narrow minded about what affects the nation and its blog.
