After watching the movie vantage point, my biggest concern with Obama accepting the nomination in a large open venue is his safety. Does the Political Junkie have any information on the level of security that will be required for this event?

As a CO resident for the past 20 plus years; we would like to correct you in that its Invesco Field at Mile High. That name was changed some years back when we got a new stadium and that is the correct name now!!! Locals do shorten it to Invesco Field now but you are not locals!!!

Poor Joe.
Didn't throw himself out of a job in 2000 (ran for re-election AND V.P at the same time.

ABANDONED by his own party in the primaries. Had to run as an Independent. And WON!

And now the petty, vindictive, self-obsessed members of his former party STILL want revenge on Joe.

How does CT feel about this? They elected Joe (not the Party Leaders)!

Good God, is NPR now as superficial as the rest of the media? WHO CARES if Obama's speech will be in the stadium?!?!??! Okay, it's kinda interesting but is it really worth spending NPR airtime - or even this blog - talking about it? Instead of this constant horserace/trivia crap, how about discussing - as a CALLER had to bring up! - Iraq's insistence that the US set a withdrawal timetable? Or how about THIS HOUR'S NEWS that Bush once again got what he wanted from Congressional Democrats - including Obama - this time on FISA?? You want to discuss the damn horserace, how are Obama's supporters reacting to his reversal on FISA??

I posted the last two days to complain, so I thought today I would post to say something positive: Ted did a great job hosting the show! And I loved when he asked Ken if we could move onto questions people actually care about (rather than an obscure political question that has little bearing on current issues). Neal better watch out for Ted. . . =)

What is the likelihood that John McCain would choose a moderate republican woman (who is ambiguous on Roe v Wade) as a running mate. Does the "math" make sense that this would serve to attract more Hilary supporters, than religious conservatives? Would then Obama be forced to name Hilary as a running mate? I had long suspected that the "religious right" was not as strong as they claimed and Christine Wicker's recent research seems to agree.

Is it just me or........Ted sounds like he is getting too old to be hosting live NPR radio programs. Reading the news is one thing. Responding to callers and guests is a completely different skill.

The Ken and Neal TOTN political Junkie tag-team was well missed today-I look forward to their jokes every Wednesday.

As another listener mentioned: why has TOTN and other NPR talk shows continued to avoid the news that The Iraq's are now demanding that the US set a withdrawal timetable? It is one of the most significant policy discussions that have come out of Iraq since the U.S. invasion. Am I missing something?

Democratic caucus' decision to allow Senator Joe Liebemann in democratic caucus is another problem with the democratic party. What does the party gain from that is what I don't get. It is a failure of democratic party leadership.

I tend to agree with Jackson; African Americans need to be free of personal responsibility as a result of the heavy burden of slavery. Government should be the father of African American families.
