I cannot give up books. The overarching reason is that I am in graduate school, but my wife I do not watch television and I prefer reading in any case.

My daughter's education. We moved her to a new school. Her tuition is going to be twice as much as last year. But we think it is a good investment.

I'll keep BUYING professionally read Audiobooks which can entertain me for many hours for the price.
However there is a FREE alternative LibriVox.org which has free MP3 downloads of audio books (read by volunteers with 99% accuracy) that are out of copyright (many classics you meant to read, Jane Austin or Jules Verne.) these are great on any MP3 player and FREE!

My house cleaner. My husband and I both work, so we have found that a house cleaner is one of our best investments. It frees us up on the weekends to spend mor quality time with each other and our Son, without having to worry about cleaning the toilets and mopping the floor.

And my expensive face cream. While spending less may result in a short term gain, the long-term affects of wrinkles and dry skin doesn't make the savings worth it.
