Fast Kickin'

YouTube

NPR is really kickin'... er... soccer balls at its World Cup coverage.  We have an great new blog, Show Me Your Cleats, which I urge you to read. (It even covers fashion, as this post by the excellent Shereen Marisol Meraji, will attest to.)  And of course, Mike Pesca is on the case in South Africa, too.

Here's the thing.  I love an international sporting competition... but I just don't love soccer.  Games should not end in ties.  The field is too big.  I just can't get into it.  In fact, the above clip from an old Simpsons episode perfectly describes how I feel about it — "fast kickin', low scorin', and ties — you bet."

But that doesn't mean I'm not loving the coverage — especially this excellent Lego recreation of the England - U.S. game. And I love the party atmosphere in the office, and the sudden exclamations from our bosses down the hall.  It's good fun — March Madness with tie scores.
