Tell Me More

Stay Tuned...

The resignation of U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales was announced minutes before we were set to go on the air today, so this will be quick. Thankfully, one of our regular contributors, Ruben Navarrette, has interviewed Gonzales. Today, he gave listeners a sense of why he decided step aside, and why now. We're planning another conversation, from a different angle, on this tomorrow, so I'm going to dash.

And...Real Time with Bill Maher. I was on the season premiere Friday night (I hear it's re-airing tonight on HBO). Many of you were kind enough to watch the show and offer feedback. Thanks.

I'll post wry commentary about my experience later...

Stay tuned.

I saw you on Bill Maher. You were terrific. My wife and I really enjoyed your comments on the show. You are very sharp and seem to have a great commonsense approach. Thanks for standing up to Bill on religion. We all have doubt.

I also enjoyed your appearance on Bill Maher. He's a bit prickly and I appreciate you standing firm on your convictions. You always present things in such an interesting light. I don't agree with all your opinions, but you always get me thinking. Thanks for being such a sharp and insightful reporter! You are a shining example of a true journalist. I can't wait to hear your reaction to your appearance.

And I am loving the show. I don't always post, but I'm always listening.

I only caught the last fifteen minutes of "Real Time with Bill Maher" - the Overtime segment. But reading a few posts on the blog seem to me I missed the juicest part of the show. It was great to see you again on TV. The last time I did was while you were on ABC's Nightline.

I must admit I love Bill Maher though I may not agree with all his views. That's why I tip my hat to anyone who could advocate his or her point intelligently when Maher has a different point of view. This time it was you . . . So Kudos Michel!

I realize that you don't comment on the rising tennis stars in this post, but I have something to say about it. Overall, I liked the topic and the notion that the Southeast Tennis & Learning Center is available for those young people is wonderful. I wish those sisters the best of luck in their endeavors and I look forward to seeing them on the tennis tour in the future.

I do, however, have a concern or take issue with one portion of the interview. At one point, Michel, asks a hard question about whether the young ladies have been exposed to hateful words by people of their own race or those of other races for being involved in tennis. Not that I thought the question wasn't appropriate, it just sounded like the young ladies were stretching to answer the 2nd half of the question. While Mrs. Barry stated they get taunted on a regular basis by individuals of other races, the young ladies seemed to have a difficult time coming up with an example. Could it be that those young ladies don't have the same view as Mrs. Barry?

I can hear the confidence about their abilities in the voices of those young ladies. It did not sound as if they were too concerned about what other players (or parents) thought about them because they have "game!" Just a thought...

Michel, I was very impressed with your presence on Bill Maher. I thought you had very good takes and I appreciated the outpouring of fact rather than spin. Good job.

I liked your appearance on "Real Time".
You did a real stand up job! I was suprised to learn your husband is Mr Vick's attorney. I just heard Senator Larry Craig hired your husband too!
I liked how u told Maher & the panel that Black Folk have have a bitter taste in their mouth on how White's were so fast to convict M. Vick.
Good job,& good work on "Tell Me More"
