Lady Gaga at Palais Omnisports de Bercy in Paris in May.
Look out, eyeballs. The nominees for the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards have been announced. Lady Gaga picked up 13 nominations (at the time of this writing, that's one nomination for every 25,265,533 times one of her two nominated videos, "Bad Romance" or "Telephone" has been watched on MT... oops ... YouTube). Eminem won eight. Shockingly, NPR didn't manage a single nomination for its star-packed parody of Gaga's "Telephone."
2009 VMA supervillain Kanye West scored a single nomination, for appearing in the Best Hip Hop Video nominee "Forever" with Drake, Lil Wayne and Eminem. Anyone want to lay odds that the 2010 show opens with West walking out onto a bare stage before either a) addressing the Taylor Swift fiasco with raw, choking honesty, or b) feinting in that direction and then launching into an overproduced performance of a new single?
