In Other News: The Next Kurt Cobain Is Playing Rock Band In Her Basement

- A New York Times reviewer says the newest version of the video game Rock Band — which features new instruments including a 25-key wireless keyboard and a guitar with six real strummable strings — can "actually begin to teach you to play guitar, bass and keyboards."

- Justin Timberlake, who plays Napster founder Sean Parker in The Social Network, tells Roger Ebert that if he hadn't been making his living on selling millions of records a decade ago when Napster was launched, he would have been tempted to use the service.

- A feature film is being built around an invented back story for Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video, according to a report from Deadline.com. [via Billboard]

- After serving eight months at Rikers Island for weapon possession, Lil Wayne is scheduled to be released from prison on Thursday. MTV speculates that the rapper's first public appearance will be the final stop on protegee Drake's tour, which takes place Saturday night in Las Vegas.

- Singer Susan Boyle will apparently appear in the holiday episode of Glee. It'll be just like eggnog (if, you know, you think of the dairy aisle as the Internet).
