A report from government investigators that they were able to smuggle bomb-making materials into supposedly high-security federal buildings is one of the top stories of the day, as we reported earlier.
All Things Considered co-host Robert Siegel just finished interviewing Mark Goldstein, director of physical infrastructure issues at the Government Accountability Office and the man who led the investigation into security lapses at federal facilities.
Robert asked whether the guards at federal buildings can keep people from bringing weapons inside. Goldstein's answer wasn't comforting: "It's unclear ... we're not sure":
