The White House is having some fun with an annual tradition -- the presidential "pardoning" of a Thanksgiving turkey.

President Barack Obama is scheduled to preside over the pardoning at 11:35 a.m. today, and the media team at the White House has this "preview":

It should be noted, as ABC News dutifully reports, that while a turkey named Courage is scheduled to be "saved" by presidential proclamation, the bird won't really be alone. A backup named Carolina is ready to step in if Courage gets too feisty.

Meanwhile, as Frank wrote yesterday, PETA is trying to kill the public's taste for farm-raised turkey.
