There was a cute moment on talk radio this morning in Washington, D.C.
During local news station WTOP's call-in show with Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, "Barry from D.C." phoned.
"Well, uh, governor Kaine this is, uh, actually the president of the United States calling," said "Barry", sounding very much like a nervous radio caller.
The president then joked that he had some "questions about traffic in northern Virginia," but that "rather than go there, I just want to say how proud we are of your service as governor."
You can listen to the banter here.
Kaine, a Democrat like Obama, is leaving office in January. Virginia governors are prevented by law from running for consecutive terms. He is also chairman of the Democratic National Committee.
