Four days after being attacked by a statue-wielding man, Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is out of the hospital.

From Rome, NPR's Sylvia Poggioli reports that: "Surrounded by police and bodyguards, Berlusconi waved weakly to reporters and photographers as he left the hospital by car. His nose, upper lip and left cheek were covered by bandages and his expression was grim."

The attack left the prime minister with a broken nose, cuts. And he lost two teeth.
