It's evidently possible to be an experienced high-school music teacher and tone deaf if an Arizona case is any indication.
A high school music teacher hit the wrong note with her principal when she took he students to Hooters for lunch.
During a school outing during which her students performed in downtown Phoenix, Mary Segall, choir director at Paradise Valley High School, decided the 40 students should grab lunch at a Hooters restaurant. Yes, Hooters.
This dubious decision no doubt assures her of the appreciation of a grateful nation of teenage boys. Her principal, on the other hand, wasn't amused. Nor, I suspect, were many of the parents.
An excerpt from the Arizona Republic:
Segall told her principal that the restaurant, known for its busty waitresses in tight shirts and orange shorts, was the only place that could accommodate a group of that size. She could not be reached for comment.
"We believe that there are many venues for lunch for a large group of people in the downtown Phoenix area," Willis said. "There could have been a choice that might have been more appropriate, given that it was a school-day event with a school employee in charge."
