Bookman didn't like "funny" boys.
Across the nation, The New York Times tells us today, "libraries have been instituting amnesty days and weeks with increasing frequency this year, and offering programs such as 'food for fines' " because the economy's tough times has made it harder for some patrons to come up with the money they owe.
A quick surf across the nation shows stories from Idaho, Texas, Oklahoma and Florida about such programs.
We have a feeling, though, that the legendary Lt. Bookman from Seinfeld's episode called The Library would be more in favor of what they're doing in Massachusetts: Throwing the book (sorry!) at scofflaws.
Here, for your enjoyment, is a link to a video taste of Bookman.
And how about one trivia question from that famous Seinfeld episode?
