Oh, the thought of having a Big Mac while doing some free surfing. As Homer Simpson might say: "Mmm."

As the Chicago Tribune writes, McDonald's Corp. says "it will soon offer free wireless Internet access at most of its U.S. restaurants as it tries to broaden its appeal." The Tribune says the service will be available "at roughly 11,000 of (McDonald's) 14,000 U.S. locations."

The Dallas Morning News notes that "the move increases the lure of McDonald's ubiquitous restaurants to laptop and smart-phone users who now either pay $2.95 for two hours of access or find other free outlets."

Not everyone may be pleased, though. As Monica Guzman says at SeattlePi.com's The Big Blog, "they're coming after you again, Starbucks."
