A scheduled 2 p.m. ET arraignment hearing in Detroit for Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab is expected to be brief. But as Sarah Hulett of Michigan Radio reports, there's heavy security for the first court appearance by the young Nigerian man who's accused of trying to blow up an airliner as it approached Detroit on Christmas Day:
The Detroit Free Press is live-blogging the news here. It reports that "two Nigerian attorneys are here on behalf of the parents of Abdulmutallab."
