How worried is the White House about tomorrow's special election in Massachusetts to fill the seat held by the late senator Edward Kennedy?

Worried enough that not only did President Barack Obama go to the commonwealth yesterday to campaign on behalf of Democratic Attorney General Martha Coakley, but also, according to the Associated Press, to have him appear in an election-eve television ad for her campaign.

If Republican state Sen. Scott Brown wins, Obama and his fellow Democrats would lose the 60th Senate vote necessary to get most work done -- a serious threat to their health care overhaul plans.
