Liberal historian Howard Zinn is dead. The author of "A People's History of the United States", passed away due to heart failure, according to his daughter, Myla Kabat-Zinn.

Zinn described himself as not terribly disappointed in President Obama - the exception being in the area of constitutional law - because he didn't expect much from the new president to begin with.
