Yemen these days is a fairly serious subject given how a young Nigerian man who allegedly tried to blow up a U.S. airliner on Christmas Day reportedly got the explosives and training from Islamic extremists there.
Still, Comedy Central's Jon Stewart and his writers were able to get some laughs out of Yemen or, more accurately, many Americans' new-found interest in the turbulent nation on the Arabian Peninsula.
In a fanciful game called Sad Libs, a Mad Libs knock off, Stewart uses news clips to explain why Yemen is so unstable, punctuating them with his punch lines.
For instance, in response to a clip that informs the audience that nearly half of Yemen's population is under age 15, Stewart says:
"Have we thought about deploying Hannah Montana?"

One of Stewart's main targets is the short American attention span, especially when it comes to the media.
Thus his kicker which hit with Predator missile accuracy:
"So that's Yemen, a place we'll be hearing about for 24 hours a day until we get bogged down and the insurgency moves to Oman."
