Do a Google search on the word "iguanas" and the phrases "iguanas in florida" and "iguanas falling from trees" will quickly pop up as suggestions.

Indeed, reports about iguanas falling from trees as the temperatures have plunged in the Sunshine State are showing up all over the news media.

And there's a video that proves the urban legend is indeed true. It's got some night-time footage of the poor creatures dropping like ... iguanas. The story comes from WPLG-TV. Apparently, the iguanas usually don't get hurt and wake up again when the temperatures rise.

Jacksonville's WNCT-TV has a report of its own here. Don't assume that "dead" iguana really has met its maker, the station advises.
